Craig Lingard is the owner of an innovative marketing business and also a publisher in the United Kingdom.
What services are you offering your clients in 2013?
We continue to offer a wide spectrum of quality services to our clients with the emphasis on giving more control to those customers that wish to have a more hands on approach to developing their online presense. We have just recently set about creating personalised website dashboards for individual clients. These dashboards allow our customers to login and create their own blog/news posts, upload images, videos, files, create social media updates and manage blog comments all from within their dashboard.
That sounds interesting. Can the client’s do anything else inside this dashboard?
Yes, the sky’s the limit really. We can expand it by using plugins to exectute various tasks. So, we’ve just installed a plugin for a client that searches the Google database for leads and presents them in a table ready of export. The fields contain the name of the business, phone number, email address, physical address, website, etc. So it’s a great lead generation tool. Several other client’s use a Live Chat plugin which allows them to chat with website visitors in real time. That’s a fantastic sales tool.
How do your customers learn this new technology?
Good question. In the past we used to spend a lot of time visiting clients and giving lectures and organising training. Now we create personalised tutorial videos for each client and put them in the dashboard so that they can be watched anytime.
So the client can watch a video on how to create or edit a blog post or how to create a new page?
Exactly, we like to give them as much control over their own website as possible and also give them the tools and training to do it professionally.
But aren’t you doing yourselves out of work?
No, not at all. Our mission is to provide our customers with the tools they need to succeed with their online presense and all their online campaigns. The best way we can do this is to work together with our clients and develop the system as a whole. Enabling the customer to get involved in the website development means that we can concentrate on providing them with new tools, test out new strategies and provide the highest quality web development and marketing services to small business all over Cornwall.
How do you see this developing over the next twelve months?
Well for one, we are going to be introducing systems to allow the client to manage their email marketing from within the dashboard. We are also going to incorporate a lot of mobile technology into the dashboard. This will include features for mobile optimized websites and mobile apps.
